The Bible, with all its profound meanings and unlimited sources of wisdom, has helped a lot of people with their life. There are thousands of verses in this holy collection of books. It talks about everything, from the start of Creation how life began and God being almighty to the Revelations which talks about the future of mankind.

The verses are equally important since they are connected with each other.  But it is fun to list down the most popular verses of the Bible. I’m sure that if you read the Bible or go to church, you would have heard of most, if not all, of these. Below are the top 20 most well-known Bible verses. These are the verses Internet users are most interested in.

1. John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
2. Jer 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
3. Rom 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
4. Phil 4:13: I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
5. Gen 1:1: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
6. Prov 3:5: Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
7. Prov 3:6: in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Psalm 23, I know, is quite popular too. It didn’t make the list though, because it is the whole chapter that’s popular, not one in itself. So probably, others like Psalms 23 didn’t make the cut for the same reason. Making this list isn’t important; it’s the message that’s within the Bible that is something to think about.

If you have noticed, the verses talk about life: redemption, hope, and human’s sin. Although the Bible keeps on telling us that humans are sinners and will possibly go to hell, it also gives us hope so that we will instead go to heaven. Some non-Christian scholars even use the Bible as a source of references because of its reliability and detailed description of the past. So there is no reason why Christians should doubt it.
